If you want a soft and dry ride, you'll find it in a Yar Craft boat. I know what I'm talking about here. I spent the past fishing season in a Yar Craft 2097, powered by a Mercury 150, and I was amazed with the performance this boat gave me.
The first time I encountered rough water, I expected the typical, bumpy wet ride you come to expect on windy days. Dave Spaid was with me, and he's logged thousands of hours on the big waters of Lake Oahe. He turned to me and said, "This boat really rides well."
Then I crossed the waves, and expected to get wet. What a pleasant surprise. We stayed dry, and I realized then why they call Yar Craft, "the dry one."
The boat is extremely fishable. There's a big, lockable rod storage area that even handles my 7 foot trolling rods. Plenty of cockpit room to mount sonar and GPS units.
When I use the bow mount to move slowly, the boat tracks perfectly, as it does when I'm trolling cranks.
Fishable? You bet!
I think though, you should prove it to yourself, and I know that after one ride in a Yar Craft on a windy day, you'll be a believer.
