More on the Bottled Water Flap
Tony:
Just read about what is going on, in Ken Moran's Outdoors, column, in the N.Y. Post. If the access permits go for $100, there certainly must be a cap on how many of these permits can be issued for any particular river or stream, because of the mean flow potential. So hypothetically speaking in order to protect these waters, suppose all of the allowable permits are bought up, by citizens groups, sports clubs, etc. etc. for example, let's say a given stream could only support 100 permits ($10,000) or suppose, there was a mini-hydro-power potential, that would certainly have a higher priority, than a bottling company and long term environmental impact studies, would have to be made over a certain period of years 5, 10 or more. This could be turned into an eminent domain situation.
Would you be kind enough, to pass this information along to Jim Chapralis, I cannot find a way to him directly. I am a social entrepreneur and wear many other hats as well, scientist, inventor, avid proponent of Alternative Medicine, etc. etc. If I had access to more specific facts, demographic, flow rates, etc. etc. I might come up with some other ideas as well.
The basic premise is don't go head to head with these entities and waste financial resources. Just setup road blocks, that will preclude or exhaust their efforts. There are major efforts to tie up water rights around the World.
These multi-national corporations are practicing what has become commonly called Corporateering, people have become overburden or collateral damage, they have no conscience. They are in fact the terrorists, that are driving the International hatred of the USA. There is plenty of evidence to cooberate this, should you need it. I am a messenger, I don't deal in opinions, just facts.
Sincerely,
