A live auction and silent auction was held at the Sioux Falls Ramkota in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Thursday, September 24, 2009. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Tony Dean's Acres fund. (NOTE: photos and descriptions of items sold at the auction can be viewed below. Donors are also acknowledged with each listing).
Tony Dean's family donated some of his personal fishing and hunting gear for the auction. The event also featured high quality donated sporting goods - fishing and hunting packages - artwork - and more.

Hand-carved canvasback decoy by Harold Duebbert. Longtime Tony Dean Outdoors producer Paul Lepisto says Tony had a lot of respect for Harold Duebbert and the work he did. Paul says Tony also admired Harold's decoys and his lifelong love affair with waterfowl. Harold has been making decoys for around 65 years. He made this one in 2008, at the age of 79, using hand tools. Also included: "Wildfowling in Dakota: 1873-1903" by Harold Duebbert. This book was published in 2003; all 1,600 copies sold in just over a year, and the book has been out of print since 2005. This book is a copy which was kept by Harold. Ruger Stainless Steel Scoped .300 Winchester Magnum. The gun is owned by Tony Dean's brother Tom DeChandt, who tells us it is a beautiful gun which was given to him by his wife. It has had 16 rounds fired through it, and is in perfect condition. Tom says he was fortunate to have bagged a 1,200 pound Canadian moose with it, and hasn't shot it since.
