The Leopold Shack a Shrine to Conservation

This is the shack that was the location of the Aldo Leopold family weekend retreats. It is located near Baraboo, WI. The Leopold family planted more than 40,000 pines on this farm. Visiting the shack is a visit to hallowed ground, for it was here the legendary Aldo Leopold tinkered, explored, and did much of the thinking that resulted in his "A Sand County Almanac," a conservation classic.
