No Open Water on Lake Thompson
To my knowledge there has not been open water of any significance on Thompson since December and with around 2 feet of ice, considerable snow cover and even more snow to the south of us I wouldn't hold your breath on any snow goose migration for a while. If the snow keeps piling up in eastern SD and less of it along the river - I can see a westward shift of what is considered their "normal" flight patterns.
